2011-2012 Job Market Candidate - Kansas State University, Economics Department

Biography

I am currently a Ph.D candidate in Economics at Kansas State University, expected graduation May 2012. I received a BS in Economics and Finance from the University of Idaho in 2007.

My research interests include Labor Economics and Applied Microeconomics. Currently, I'm studying the returns to education for entrepreneurs, the factors that influence selection into entrepreneurship, and the relationship between firm size and the returns to education.

I have accumulated lots of teaching experience at K-State. Over the past few years, I have taught 11 sections of three different courses: Intermediate Microeconomics, Principles of Microeconmics, and Human Resource Economics. In 2009, I was awarded the Department of Economics Teaching Award for excellence in undergraduate teaching.

In my free time I enjoy ping pong, tennis, ultimate frisbee and basketball.

I will be attending the ASSA meeting in January 2012. Please contact me to set up an interview.
